The impact of increasing sowing rate, nitrogen and grazing on barley dry matter production, grain yield and stubble locations
Aims

To examine the interaction between various combinations of nitrogen, sowing rate and grazing to maximise drymatter production and see what impact this has on grain yield and quality and stubble mass post harvest.

Key messages

The results suggest using nitrogen and/or increasing sowing rates will increase drymatter available for grazing at late tillering but if grazed these treatments will have a positive impact on grain yield.
