Seed closure, emergence and visor of zero-till wheat locations
Aims

To assess the emergence and vigour of wheat sown with a zero-till system with:

  • press wheel
  • in-furrow wheel (seed-lock)
  • in-furrow seed firmer (nylon)
Key messages

In furrow devices were superior to a press wheel.

The seed lock wheels were significanly more durable compared to in-furrow seed firmers.
