Aims

To identifiy zinc deficiency in flax and treatment with zinc fertiliser.

Key messages
  • Poor growth of flax observed on "Bay of Biscay" (black clays) in Auburn area of South Australia.
  • But soil type patchy through paddocks.
  • Agricultural zinc sulphate was cheaper and as effective as calcined zinc in correcting the problem.
