Aims

To assess how best to address trace element issues on a paddock spread five years previously with calcareous clay.

Key messages
  • Single foliar trace element applications may not be sufficient to correct deficiencies caused by spreading calcareous clays.
  • Placement of copper, zinc and manganese below the incorporated clay layer appeared to partially address the problem.
  • This was an unreplicated farmer demo so needs to be repeated with replication to improve interpretation of results.
