Aims

To determine the rates of copper and zinc required for maximum grain yield of wheat grown on greyand brown  gravelly sand

Key messages
  • Cu increased with Zn or without Zn added to superphosphate.  
  • All Zn levels may have aslight depression on yield with nil Cu 2.75 & 5.5 Cu levels, particularly 3.3 kg /ha of ZnO application.
  • Combination of Cu Sul at 5.5 kg/ha and nil  kg/ha ZnO or 8.25 kg Cu/ha& 1.6 kg/ha ZnO was required for maximum yield.
  • Plain superphosphate out yielded  Aerophos +gypsum suggested  Zn soil was inadequat for oats and or clover.
