Effect of copper and zinc on wheat on newly cleared yellow earthy sand of the central wheatbelt locations
Aims

To determine the rates of copper and zinc required for maximum grain yield of wheat grown on  yellow  earthy sand.

Key messages
  • Cu increased Grain yield in the absence or presence of Zn.
  • Zn application depressed grain yield at lower rates of Cu (nil & 2.75 kg Cu sul/ha).
  • Combination of Cu sulfate (2.75 kg Cu sulfate) and nil  KgZnO /ha  gave for maximum yield.
  • Plain superphosphate yield same as  Aerophos +gypsum.
  • Suggest soil Zn was adequate for grain yield of wheat.
