Effect of copper and zinc on wheat on newly cleared grey brown sandy gravel of the central wheatbelt locations
Aims

To determine the rates of copper and zinc required for maximum grain yield of wheat grown on grey brown sandy gravel.

Key messages
  • Cu increased grain yield in the absence or presence of Zn.
  • Zn application depressed grain yield at lower rates of Cu (nil & 2.75 kg Cu sul/ha).
  • Zn increased grain yield with 5.5 & 8.25 kg Cusul/ha
  • Combination of Cu sulfate (5.5 &m 8.25 kg Cu sulfate) and 1.6 KgZnO /ha  gave for maximum yield.
  • Plain superphosphate yield same as  Aerophos +gypsum.
