Copper, zinc and nitrogen for barley following clover ley on new light land at Indarra locations
Aims

Copper, Zinc and nitrogen   required for maximum grain yield of barley following clover ley grown on new light land  at Indarra

Key messages
  • The addition of copper and zinc fertiliser applied Cu was applied in 1959.

  • Barley responded to Cu; applied as Cu ore @ 35 kg/ha.

  • ZnO at 3.3 kg/ha depressed yield without Cu for both levels of N, applied as ammonium sulphate

  • Cu increased yield by about 30% with nil ammonium sulphate applied.

  • Application of Ammonioum sulphate appeared to decrease the respponse to Cu.
