Phosphorus response in field peas locations
Aims

To measure responsiveness to starter nitrogen (N) and high sulphur (S) rates.

Key messages
  • Soil test results indicated that the P levels on the trial site were not particularly low.
  • Despite the dry conditions in September, grain yields ranged from 1.59 to 2.16 t/ha.
  • Results demonstrate that application of P up to 40 kg P/ha can increase field pea yields. To maximise grain yield, P rates above 40 kg/ha may be needed.
