Chickpea sowing time x variety, Mid North (Pinery) and Yorke Peninsula (Melton), South Australia locations
Aims
  • To maximise chickpea production through the identification of optimum variety and sowing dates.
Key messages
  • It is generally recommended that sowing of chickpeas is performed later than other pulses,
particularly in favourable areas, due to poor pod set in cool weather (winter) conditions and
excessive lodging in favourable regions and seasons where vegetative growth is high.
