Aims

To see how their own broad bean selections performed relative to other selections under the same environmental
conditions.

Key messages

At the Millicent site a similar response occurred with no significant difference in yield between the broad bean farmer races. One
interesting observation is that the varieties that originated from a different area performed better when they were grown under a different environment (this was seen with the Millicent farmer race #4 yielding the highest at Conmurra (4.27t/ha), and the Bray & Conmurra farmer races #2 and #1 (5.81t/ha and 5.56t/ha respectively) being the highest yielding varieties at the Millicent
site.
