Integrated Weed Management to control wild radish locations
Aims
  • To monitor how wild radish populations change under a range of integrated weed management (IWM) methods
  • To investigate the economic advantages to spraying versus hand weeding.
Key messages
  • An integrated weed management (IWM) approach was used incorporating integrated Harrington Seed Destructor (iHSD), herbicide, hand picking, crop rotation and early grazing opportunities
  • After seven years wild radish numbers were controlled on paddocks that previously had high densities
  • Between 2018 and 2020 the radish population was reduced by 71%
