Trial details

Year(s) 2004
Contributor Liebe Group
Trial location(s) East Marchagee, WA
Irrigator biodegradable soil surfactants locations
Aims

Determine if there are economic and agronomic advantages with using soil ‘wetters’ at seeding to improve crop emergence of wheat (Arrino) in hydrophobic soils (non-wetting).

Key messages
  • No significant difference between treatments but interesting trend supporting combined use of protectant fungicides with soil surfactancts, delivered on furrow rather than on fertiliser (this is not a registered pattern of use).
  • Warrants further investigation in 2005.
