Barley variety trial locations
Aims

To evaluate Buloke and Hindmarsh to industry standards.

Key messages
  • Hindmarsh is a new short season feed variety with excellent disease resistance to powdery mildew, scald and cereal cyst nematode.
  • It is currently undergoing international brewing evaluation trials.
  • Both Hindmarsh and Buloke are good consistent performers, their superior disease resistance and high yields will become more important in the future as input costs continue to rise.
