Lentil rolling locations
Aims

To investigate the best time for rolling lentils. This it to ensure that the paddock surface is in a state suitable for harvest whilst miniising the imnpact of rolling operation on the crop.

Key messages

Lentil rolling is a relatively common practice in Wimmera/Mallee districts. Although several management techniques are advised when rolling lentils, after 2 years (2001 and 2003) of BCG trial work there seems to be no adverse affect on lentil growth or no yield reduction when rolling lentils at any stage of growth.
