To conduct an on-farm barley demonstration.
Two on-farm variety demonstrations were used to compare new malting barley varieties to the standard Wimmera variety Gairdner. The two new varieties for 2006 are: Buloke and Flagship. In a season with late spring rain, neither of these two new varieties were higher yielding or produced better grain quality than Gairdner at the two on-farm variety demonstrations in the Wimmera.
