Labile phosphorus carryover after drought locations
Aims

To measure the variation of extractable (labile) P in the crop row and inter row following drought affected cereals in 2006 & to investigate the removal of P in relation to yield.

Key messages
  • Following drought affected cereals, labile P concentration was greater in the crop row than in the inter row.
  • There is potential to exploit carry over P following 2006.
  • In addition this may also have implications for those with auto steer systems with 2cm accuracy to seed into higher concentration of P in last years failed or low yielding crops.
