To assess the implications of different P fertiliser rates on crop growth and profitability over time.
Key messages
In a Morgan pea hay crop, there were no dry matter differences between any of hte P fertiliser rates in 2009.
The most profitable application of P on average between 2003 and 2009 has been zero P/ha on a site with a strong fertiliser history and initial soil P Colwell of 41mg/kg.
A rate of 5kg P/ha per year produced the second highest net income with the least amount of risk.
