Aims
To present results of the long season barley variety trial.
Key messages
As demonstrated by the yields of the varieties barley had quite a good season in the Southwest.
The Long Season Barley Variety trial incorporates both feed and malting varieties which are selected to have a late maturity period as this suits the high rainfall growing season in the South West.
Frost damage to the barley varieties at the three sites was minimal because of their maturity stage.
No observed climate data available for this trial. Derived climate data is
determined from trial site location and national weather sources.
