Barley response to incremental irrigation locations
Aims

To calculate the incremental benefit of irrigation to barley to maximise water use efficiency and determine the growth stage to cease irrigation.

Key messages
  • There was no yield benefit to late irrigation past the soft dough stage
  • Reducing the irrigation rate from 90% of pan evaporation to 68% oof pan evaporation did not significantly reduce yield.
