Stubble management to reduce the impact of frost to crops in the Albany and Kwinana West port zones of WA locations
Aims

To investigate the impact of stubble on frost severity and duration.

Key messages

High stubble loads appear to increase frost damage by reducing the amount of heat radiated from the soil at night, leading to lower canopy temperatures and greater frost severity, duration and damage.
