Aims
To assess the yield and quality attributes and subsequent gross margin returns for 7 commonly grown wheat varieties.
Key messages
KING ROCK fell in a hole early, ran up quickly and often looked very heat and moisture stressed.
LONGREACH COBRA did not handle a dry year. It did not appear robust or durable in a dry warm season.
CORACK and MACE handled drought stress well.
CALINGIRI and MAGENTA looked the most durable and robust all year.
CALINGIRI again proved very adaptable.
