To measure concentrations of trace elements in terra rossa and rendzina soils in South Australia.

Key messages
  • The concentrations of cobalt, zirconium, nickel, copper, vanadium, molybdenum, and manganese were determined in soils.
  • The soils from the lower South East of the state contain lower concentrations of all of these elements than do those near Adelaide, particularly for cobalt, copper and zinc.
  • This difference is reflected in the concentrations of calcareous material in the soil.
