Aims

An exploration of the relationships between zinc deficiency crown rot in general type in durum wheat

Key messages
  • The critical zinc concentration in shoots ranged from 22 to 29 mg /kilogram across the 5 durum varieties.
  • There was no difference in shoot zinc concentration of the 5 varieties within any of the zinc treatments, ranging from 0.025 to 5 mg / kilogram of soil.
  • There was some evidence that zinc sensitive genotypes were more likely to suffer from crown rot.
