Trial details

Researcher(s) Damian Jones
Year(s) 2017
Contributor Irrigated Cropping Council
Trial location(s) Appin South, VIC
Irrigated Pulses Part 3 locations
Aims

To evaluate the yields anf profitability of irrigated chickpeas and lentils grown on subsurface irrigation

Key messages

Drainage is the key to successful irrigated pulses. The subsurface drip irrigation without beds resulted in prolonged soil waterlogging which impacted establishment and plant survival in spring.
