Interaction between plant density and nitrogen application in eight barley varieties in central west NSW locations
Aims

To examine the interaction between plant density and nitrogen application in eight barley varieties in central west NSW.

Key messages
  • Nitrogen applications increased yield, manily through increased tillering.
  • Increased plant density reduced yield.
  • Spartacus CL and Fathom had the highest yield at optimum nitrogen and plant density.
  • Compass and Commander were the least responsive to nitrogen applications.
