Aims

The trials evaluated wheat and barley varieties at increasing P rates.

Key messages

• In 2015 Trojan wheat yields were greater with the highest P rate treatment.
• Bass and Compass barley achieved their highest yields with 30 units of P (kg/ha) applied at sowing.
• Seasonal conditions impacted on trial results; they should be interpreted with caution and used in conjunction with additional soil nutrition information.
• Soil testing and responding to the results is an important component in maximizing yield and profitability of farming enterprises.
