CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OF SOIL HEALTH locations
Aims

To engage with growers around topical soil health issues in their regions, and arm them with knowledge of ways that they may be able to improve their soil health and productivity.

Key messages
  • Western Flat (Ramseys) soil modification work. Site was established in 2009. After 2 seasons, the area that organic matter was spaded into is performing well.
  • Wolseley (Matthews’); alternative fertiliser demonstration; no differences were found between soil biology after a 12 month period.
  • Lochaber Ag Bureau (Clothiers); Peries Wightman subsoil manuring project
  • Dairy sites with Dairy SA based around the Mt Gambier region
  • Coonalpyn Ag Bureau Soil pit days
  • Coonawarra Grape Growers – historical composting trial sites revisited
  • Sherwood – soil modifications in conjunction with additional carbon project
