Aims

To assess the benefit of early aphid management and BYDV control through the use of seed applied insecticides

Key messages
  • Applying Insecticide Seed Treatments to the Wheat variety Brennan showed a significant increase in yield compared to the untreated control in 2011.
  • There was a yield response to using Cruiser Opti however was not significantly different to other insecticide seed treatments in 2011
  • The use of Ambush did show a yield response but was not significantly different from other seed applied Insecticide. Treatments and would not be economical or practical for commercial farming operations.
  • Aphid and Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus Management Starts from Day Zero.
