Disease management in faba beans using real time weather data locations
Aims

Demonstrate the effectiveness of different fungicide timing options on chocolate spot management and evaluate a new spray decision support tool.
This trial was a collaboration of the Crop Protection and Grain Science groups within DPIRD.

Key messages
  • PBA Amberley which is rated MR to chocolate spot did not respond to fungicides at Wittenoom Hills when crop humidity was low in 2021.
  • Using in-crop sensors which send data wirelessly in real time may provide a useful guide to help spraying decisions – particularly when not to spray fungicides.
