Management strategies to overcome acidification of Mallee sandy soils locations
Aims

To demonstrate management options to overcome acidification in sandy Mallee soils to improve legume production.

Key messages

Raising soil pH from less than <5 to >6.5 improved the dry matter produced of the Faba bean/ vetch mixed species legume crop by 200%.

Acknowledgments

Thank you to Wade and Chad Nickolls for hosting and assisting with the implementation of the demonstration. Thank you to Brian Hughes from SARDI for assistance monitoring the soil pH changes between treatments.
