Trial details

Aims

To observe the effect of fungicide application timing in controlling Septoria tritici blotch in wheat in the MRZ and LRZ of the Southern Australia.

Key messages
  • Foliar fungicide applications were required to protect grain yield, with a 10-16% yield gain recorded in the susceptible varieties in the MRZ (one fungicide at stem elongation and one at flag leaf emergence) and LRZ (stem elongation only) sites.
  • Foliar fungicide applications were not economical for STB control where grain yield potential was less than 3 t/ha.
